- 03.28.08 - Raytown, MO

It is very late as I type this, and I will supplement this tomorrow with much more trivia and repartee from our Missouri experience. But suffice it for now to say that tonight was easily a candidate for SHOW OF THE TOUR. That says a lot, especially considering some of the great experiences we've had on this tour. Here are some highlights for now:

- Jack Stack Barbecue - if you've never been, you owe it to yourself. Not from Kansas City? It's almost worth booking a plane ticket. I'm serious. It's that good. After every bite, you will say "Oh my gosh this is incredible." That's what we did!

- Drillbit Taylor - We went and saw it today. If you love silly movies, you will dig it. Owen Wilson is hilarious...

- the opening bands were stellar - I stood out in the crowd and watched a good bit of the show, and it was obvious that the other bands were feeding off of the great crowd. It was fun.

- Our show rocked. Great night. Thief was good, Cry Out to Jesus was special, and the whole encore with Otherside, Handle With Care and God of Wonders. All really good.

OK, look for more tomorrow when I post from that town in Kansas that I can't pronounce :)

still waiting for Kansas updates!

I took my wife to the Raytown show. I surprised her with tickets, and she got her CD autographed as well.

That may not sound like much, but being it's a "Contagious" CD and she got it one of Third Day's first concerts when they pressed the CD...well, how about I let her tell you?

I was going to leave this in the "interview Third Day" post but the comments are closed. Now that Brad is gone, how has your approach to the songs and performance of them changed? Tai mentioned on his blog that he has alot more room to be creative now, but it would seem on some songs (like Consuming Fire), it would leave a little bit of a void since Brad was so seemingly intregal in the performance. By the way, I have been listening to the Wired shows and you guys are still awesome! Hopefully I'll get to see you sometime this summer if you are in the Louisville, Lexington, or Cincinnati area.

Hi.. I was gonna leave a comment on your myspace page but figured that ya'll had a better chance of reading this personally. So, I'll try. I really felt led to tell ya something that recently happened..I'll make it short.
First,I constantly have ya'll playin' through my whole house most of the day and in the car. The other day my 7 year old son was at my moms house and this 11 year old bully up the street was hitting him and my son (TJ) kept walking away and than she started cussing and saying some really unclean things and my son, to my surprise, turned around and pointed to her and yelled..I DONT TALK LIKE THAT, I LISTEN TO THIRDDAY!!!"...I came home and told my sister about it and I told her that I wish I could tell ya'll about it cuz I realized how you're music has had an effect even on my 7 year old, not to mention the bad moods it lifts me out of.lol. My sis and I have been to 2 of ya'lls concerts here in Ohio and my son begs me to take him next time we go. My sis caught a guitar pick @ the last concert and when my son saw it, he was obsessed with getting one and learning to play the guitar..He's convinced that one day he's gonna play with u guys. It touches my heart and I just wanted to share..Thanks so much for your positive words and music..God bless ya'll and I'll keep prayin' for u guys and your families.

I actually have you seen you guys three times, twice in Las Vegas NV and once at Raytown, and the first time I ever saw you guys I had never heard of you, got your offerings cd, and loved it. Then, I saw you on the Wire tour and I have to say that you guys were good, but that first tour with Michael W. Smith was amazing pretty much. You kind of, in a way redeemed yourselves on this tour. I loved the first concert, enjoyed the second, and absolutely loved the raytown one. I also brought two of my friends with me to this concert, and they were going because they thought it would be good, they loved the show and had a complete blast! Thank YOU!

Hi Mac and Third Day:
WOW! Congratulations on being recognized by the Georgia State Senate and House! Great Going! I want to say "God Bless", but He is already, most certainly, blessing you! Amen! Carol Wagner

Thanks for bringing your tour through KC. I'm from Topeka, so KC isn't far to go.
My husband and I so enjoyed the concert (the tickets were my birthday present), even though we had to sit on the stairs at the top of the sanctuary! God still blessed us with all of the music and praise. It was wonderful.
Blessings to you all as you bless the world with your gifts.

Hey guys. I'm going to your show on April 3. I am so pumpmed. Not sure if Brad will be there. Praying that he will be. I have never seen you guys in concert so I am so blessed and my prayers were deffinatly answered. I also pray that I will get a chance to shake your hands and just say hello. That would be incredible for me. Don't worry Mac your a "Rockstar" in my book! God Bless.

Hi Mac and Third Day:
Happy Sunday after Resurrection Sunday (can you believe it's only one week since Easter?).
We sang GOD OF WONDERS in church today. I heard ya singing in my ear, Mac, right along with us.
One month down, two to go until SWC-Delmar. We can do it! "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:9-10
God Bless You! I'm still praying for you EVERYDAY-DEFINITELY!
CAROL WAGNER

Yeah thanks for an amazing show! Also thanks to you and the rest of Third Day for taking the time from your meet and great to sign the autographs for me on the sign from the seats in the Artist's Circle. I haven't had the extra dough to get Wired yet but after hearing what Gordy and Terra said I'm definitely going to very soon! Thanks agian and God Bless

Thanks for a great show. I came with two of my best friends - all of us are Army wives. We appreciate your shout out about your trip to Iraq. Our husbands have all done tours there and another friend of ours emailed us GREAT pictures of himself with all of you. Yes...we were jealous! I was truly blessed to see the show in such a small, intimate venue. I love the stadium shows, but the intimate setting, in a House of God, was powerful! Thanks and God Bless.

Hey guys-- we're looking forward to seeing the show tonight here in Salina. We've been fans of your music and your message for some time. It's a smaller historic venue (the Stiefel Theatre) and so ticket prices are pretty high. Hopefully we'll have a good turnout.

Wecome to Kansas Jayhawk country... as we made it to the Elite 8 in basketball last night. Hope you enjoy yourselves while yu are here. Blessings and prayers go out to everyone on the tour... hope your music continues to energize and motivate people to Christ.

A fellow musician from Sa LIE nah..

Tease Tease Tease, now I will have to make a special trip to KS just to try Jack Stack I've never been to KS, both of my Parents were raised in Missouri and were married there they probably have friends living there I could stay with. Great show last night in Raytown - and it was wonderful meeting you guys!! I'm ready for you to come back already. (How about ya all skip the town you can't pronounce-Salina-and just stay in KC?!) :)

Thanks again for a wonderful evening - and may GOD continue to bless you all!!

P.S. - Rock Chalk, Jayhawk GO KU!!! :)

Totally enjoyed the show tonight in Raytown (I've never been to Jack Stack- but will go now) :). I was very moved by all of opening fellows, but especially Revive! It was awesom experiencing the show for the first time, as I've been moved by your music for years. Thank you for sharing your God given gifts with the world (and me!). God bless all of you during the remainder of your tour. If you get a chance, we are currently in the process of adopting a 3 year old precious boy from Guatemala. Prayers are VERY much welcome! And if you get another free moment (Do you get many of those?)... we'd love all of you to visit us on our blog. You feel like family (well, you are - in Christ) Again, God bless you as you continue to share His love!

Felicia

I wanted to give you a shout-out and thank you for the rocking show tonight...er, last night. I was the girl who had you sign her iPod. I must say, it is looking much prettier now! Thanks! ;)
haha, Salina is pronounced "Suh-lie-nuh". Not too hard. Try pronouncing Olathe correctly! [where i live, a suburb of KC "oh-lay-thuh... hehe.]

ohmygosh. I had Jack Stack BBQ last fall for the first time in a long time. it was amazing! I wonder why my family doesn't go every other week! I guess we'd be so fat from it...
Favorite song from the night... God of Wonders. Never fails to send shivers down my spine. Next favortie was King of Glory. I LOVE the guitar in that. So beautiful.

Hope you have a great night! Rest well, and thank you once again!

[ps-is there a possibility of a set list?]
