Question/Answer # 4
Which do you enjoy more: The sold out 10,000 people concerts, or the old days back at The Strand and in shopping center parking lots with the smaller crowds?
I really like playing for big crowds. It takes a whole different skill set to try and keep a whole arena engaged. It also usually requires some very talented crew on sounds and lights, which we have. The intimate shows are fun too, but I always feel like we're not able to give the audience the whole package. The biggest gauge is just how full a room is. The small shows are great and the big shows are great. The shows that are supposed to be big shows, but end up being small shows..... not so much. We give the same show, but the audience is always more reserved with empty seats surrounding them.
On the Upcoming Music Builds Tour, we're putting together a show that is unlike anything that has ever been done for Christian Music. The line-up is like going to a Christian Music Festival for four nights and watching just the closer's play. The difference is, we're not going to just have generic production, but state of the art stuff that you normally only get to see at a Bon Jovi/U2/Coldplay/Keith Sweat I mean Keith Urban kind of show.
Just read all of your answers. Thank you for being so open! I have a great respect for you and your approach to Third Day. What you said about the Talents and 'get to' rather than 'have to' tugged at my heart/spirit strings.
I am very proud of you, as a Christian man/husband/father/artist. I am proud of the whole band!
Each of you are incredible role models for all of society and I pray that the Lord's hand remains on you and protects you at all times. I also pray that the Lord grant you His Wisdom concerning all Spiritual things.
It is an honour for me to be able to simply comment on your blog and be able to communicate my gratitude. That is BIG for me.
I thank God for you and all of Third Day. Keep running the race guys!
