As a result of our partnership with World Vision on the recent Third Day Live tour I am pleased to announce that over 470 children in India were sponsored by Third Day fans. This amply fulfilled the Bible verse that I was using each night when challenging the audience to get involved:
As the Scriptures say, “Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be forgotten.” 2 Corinthians 9.9
I suggested that even in this time of economic hardship it would be right to make an investment with an eternal reward. For each child sponsored, $75 was placed in the Come Together Fund and will be sent out to complete the construction of the Gateway School on the Come Together Compound in Undeswarapuram, near Rajahmundry in South India. On behalf of the band I shall be visiting the official opening ceremony of the school in February along with my wife, but before then I shall post some up to date photos of the school construction. I shall also give details of how you can send some simple care packages of children's reading and writing materials if you would like to support the project in that way.
