GREENVILLE, SC.
Tour highlghts so far:
*Brad introducing the song Merry Christmas-about the long wait for his newly adopted daughter from China. The song and the accompanying video have me and many others in tears.
* Third Day signing Love Song for a Savior and Jars of Clay singing Love Song-do you see what they did there?
*Being given the opportunity to talk about the theme of the tour Christmas Offerings with the audience for 5 minutes each night and share the work of Blood:Water Mission and World Vision. We want people to give generously to these ministries as a Christmas Offering to the Lord.
*Learning Scotty Wilbanks favorite phrases- "That ain't never hurt no-one" and "That's what I'm talkin 'bout right there" - they are going to become part of my preaching sooner or later!
DEVOTIONAL UPDATE
Today we studied Isaiah 7.10-14 and meditated on the awesome sign from God:Immanuel-God with Us.
In our thoughts and prayers have been-
Alex Dodaine, a young fan currently very ill with Leukemia.
O'Brien Payne, another young fan who was struck by a car yesterday.
Pastor Samuel Paul, a friend of mine from India who contacted me about a pastor colleague of his who was burnt alive by Hindu extremists last week.
The city of Jerusalem, that peace will return there.
PLEASE JOIN US TO PRAY FOR THESE.
Oh Lord...in the midst of joy, You are there.
In the midst of turmoil, You are there.
In the midst of horror, You are there.
In the midst of celebration, You are there.
In the midst of grief, You are there.
In the midst of peace, You are there.
In the midst of unrest, You are there.
You are all and in all.
When it looks like all hope is lost, we can hang on and know that we can never be without Hope....
When we are persecuted for the sake of the Gospel, we still have Hope.
When the physical pain is too much to bear, Hope will see us through to the end.
When emotional turmoil has taken its toll and our minds and spirits are about to break, we can hang on, because we have Hope.
When there is no rational reason to take one more step forward, or to continue to stand our ground against the Adversary....when all manner of physical wealth, prosperity, security and health are lost....when self dignity is no longer existent...there is still Hope.
For Christ Jesus is our Hope...Immanuel.

This song by the late Ofra Haza, 'O Jerusalem of Gold' has touched my heart and brought back a new fervency to pray for peace for that city.

"That's what I'm talkin 'bout right there." Somehow I can't imagine you saying that with your accent. I think it only works with a little bit of a Southern twang. Ha ha!
