RUGBY!
It's Rugby World Cup time in Europe at the moment, and tomorrow I'll be cheering on Wales as they take on Australia in the 76,000 capacity Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. 16 teams, including the USA, are competing in the tournament which is mostly based in France with some games in Wales and Scotland.
Why am I telling you all this? Well, tonight I'm hosting a men's outreach evening at my church, which is in the shadow of the Millennium Stadium, and the special guest is going to be Andy Gourley, who amongst other roles is the chaplain of the Queensland Reds Rugby team based in Brisbane, Australia. I met Andy when Third Day toured Australia in 2005 and again earlier this year. We've become good friends, although one of us will be disappointed with tomorrow's match result! It's always a thrill for me when God connects people and ministries from around the world. I've got loads of good friends in America because of my relationship with Third Day, and increasingly now in other parts of the world too. The body of believers, although expressed best through local church, really does spread throughout our cities, our countries and throughout the world.
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!
